My father died on Saturday. He had terminal brain cancer and fought the psychological reality of that for about 3 years. I was with him for a large portion of the final year, and I was able to witness his last breath. He did not die easily. His disintegration was a disturbing and confusing phenomenon, because it was difficult to tell which sections of time were occupied by “Dad”. But I’m glad that it’s over, for him and for me.
He was buried on Monday.
I’m not sure what is going to happen next, but after I settle all of his affairs, NofNA updates will attempt to resume to a normal schedule.

I’ve returned from the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art Festival for 2012. Every year I have a lot of fun. Many people stopped by my portion of the festival to have a glance at the books on display and to chat a little bit. Toby, Amina, Michael (who I later remembered bought a book from me at a festival prior), even Suzanne–Flash–from SR (I missed Jen though!).
The experience made me want to create more content for the festival next year. As a result, I don’t think I’ll be updating NofNA as much as before. I plan to update only once or twice a week and use the rest of the time to finish old projects that should have been finished long ago, including the reissuing of the 10%+ books.
My father, who is terminally ill, is also requiring more and more care as he nears the end of his life. I feel that this schedule will further benefit him as well.
Until next update, thank you for reading.

Barring any more medical emergencies, NofNA will be at MoCCA fest again this year. I hope to see you there. Simply look for the banner to the left.
MoCCA Festival is held at the 69th Regiment Armory, which is located in between 26th street and 25th street, on Lexington Avenue. Hours of operation this year are:
Saturday, April 28 & Sunday, April 29. Both 11am-6pm. That’s one weekend from this weekend.
MoCCA has supplied respondents with a mapquest map. Click here to view it.
Click here for a map to the NofNA table, which is table L6.
I will have copies of 10%+ and Secretary‘ to display, with the books Untitled and Wild Style for sale. I will also be doing free sketches, so you should drop by and ask for something.

Secretary Prime, the second edition, has been released. This is a budget release that should be easier to afford. It’s the regular edition of Secretary Prime that was originally canceled a year ago. The quality isn’t as luscious as the special edition, but it’s still very nice, with something even the special edition didn’t have: laminated covers.
Printing is being handled by the independent comics printer Ka-Blam. This means that orders won’t be filled by me directly, so I can’t send out postcard sketches. Shipping also can’t be free this time, but the full set shouldn’t cost more than $75 if you live in the contiguous 48 states of the US.
As each book is printed to order, please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.
The re-issuing of 10%+ should be next. However, due to the medical state of an immediate family member, this work may be delayed.

NofNA readers occasionally leave insightful comments on past arcs, nestled deep in the catacombs of the latest dramatic turn. However, while I usually am able to see these comments, other readers have a slim-to-none chance of ever finding them.
That changes now, as a “Recent Comments Elsewhere” link is now available beneath the normal comments link. When a reader makes a comment on a page that is not the current page, it will appear under this link, and stay there for approximately 6 days.
I hope everyone had a happy new year.

Hey! Both Wild Style and the 2nd Edition of 10%+ have launched on Kickstarter. These are the first NofNA book projects which will be taking orders via pre-order.
The Wild Style book will feature roughly double the content on the site, mostly from a couple of longer stories.
10%+ will be reformatted into 4 books–the original story, plus the Addendum. I expect I’ll do new covers for these. In addition, if the funding manages to go over the initial $3,000 required for 25 copies, extra copies of individual books will be able to be ordered.
If you’ve truly enjoyed these stories, now’s your chance to show your appreciation and make sure there will be many more NofNA book projects to come. Thank you!!

The Secretary book set is now available for sale.
Please use this post for discussion about the events in the book.

Wild Style will end for the time being, so that I can prepare for the sale of the Secretary books, as well as a compilation of its own.
NofNA will now take a break of indeterminate length–no longer than a month–to account for these events, as well as the next arc, which features a drastic change in setting. In the meantime, please enjoy the Secretary books. A kickstarter event for the Wild Style book is coming soon!

After months and months of delays, the printed version of Secretary is finally approaching. This is the version to have, whether or not you liked the web-based version. This special edition will be printed on high-quality paper and sold only as a complete set for $105. As usual, the set will come with a free postcard sketch. Each set will also be numbered. There will only be 30 sets available.
There was a regular edition planned, but it has been delayed indefinitely. Should it become available in the future, I’ll let everyone know.
I hope everyone is enjoying the manic Wild Style. It won’t last much longer. I’m looking forward to the next arc. In the meantime, I’ve also been compiling extra content for a Wild Style book, which should be a much simpler (and quicker) affair than the Secretary book. This will be the first NofNA book to fund itself via pre-orders. The quota for funding should be small–around $300 for success–so I am looking forward to a little of your help. Look for that Kickstarter campaign to appear sometime in September.
Until then, keep cool. At least, if you’re in the northern hemisphere…!
